La’gaan entered the training room, finishing his visit to M’gann’s room.

“Can I go see her?” Conner asked. Dick shook his head. “We’ve got to let her rest for the night Conner. You can see her first thing in the morning,” he answered.

“Oh, so you squeeze in a visit for me, but when it comes to him, you give him first priority?” La’gaan asked, his voice rapidly rising. Dick opened his mouth to answer, but Conner nodded at him to let him know that he was going to handle it.

“La’gaan, I was just going to—“

“No,” the Atlantean opposed, “no, I’m tired of being second best. Let’s settle it right here, right now Conner, you and me.”

The team took a couple steps backwards. Mal walked towards the two to separate them, but Dick held out his hand and held him back.

M’gann materialized through the doors and settled the team, listening to the loud argument.

Conner raised an eyebrow. “What are you talking about?” he asked. La’gaan spread out his arms. “You versus me. Whoever wins gets M’gann,” he answered.

The whole team gasped silently. M’gann almost gave her invisible position away after taking the sharp inhale so loudly.

Conner’s eyebrows furrowed—almost in anger. Clark and Ma Kent have been teaching him about good manners and respect. To hear such a statement for a fight was something he shook his head at.

“M’gann is not some trophy to be fought over,” Conner said calmly. The room grew silent and La’gann’s anger melted into sadness and shame. His shoulders sagged a bit and his glance lowered from Conner’s blue eyes to the floor.

“Treat her right and take care of her for me,” Conner added. M’gann swallowed down the lump in her throat and struggled to keep her lip from quivering.

With that, Conner stepped away from La’gaan and walked to the door. For a moment, he lingered and set his glance on an empty space.

M’gann shifted under his gaze, although she was invisible. Conner was looking directly at her hazel eyes, trying to confirm his feeling that a presence was there.

His eyes moved away and he shook his head to get rid of the confusing feeling. M’gann sighed in relief and moved to the wall for support from falling over.
Conner and M'gann were always in my heart. I think I've expressed my feelings for them into this piece. Hope ya guys like it. (:
